Today's photos:

My walk today was absolutely beautiful. While I was walking, the reality was palpable. As time has past, however, the experience has taken on an increasingly potent dream-like quality.

It is worth mentioning here that the American wigeon is one of the migratory ducks that winters here in South Texas. Its appearance is another reminder that winter is not far away.

River Birds… and a Turtle
"Here is your country. Cherish these natural wonders, cherish the natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage, for your children and your children's children."  -  Theodore Roosevelt

These photos were taken on my walk along the Mission Reach of the San Antonio River on Friday, November 23.  Somehow when I did the photo editing for that post, I overlooked one photo of a slider turtle. That is how this turtle ended up with all these birds. This was the same walk where a pair of ospreys made an appearance.
