San Antonio River, Mission Reach, Roosevelt Park Trailhead,
south to the U.S. 90 bridge
Today's photos:
Various species of sunflowers currently dominate the landscape along the banks of the Mission Reach of the San Antonio River, but if one takes a closer look, numerous other genera of flowers are interspersed among the sunflowers. On my walk this evening, I was especially looking for the variety of flowers currently in bloom.
Of course, I took numerous other photographs along the way, but will save those for a future post.

Salado Creek Greenway South, Martin Luther King Park Trailhead, north
Today's photos:
My walk today was along one of the recently opened sections of the Salado Creek Greenway. The walk took me from the Martin Luther King Park Trailhead north to the IH-10 bridge and back to the trailhead.
The ecosystem here is very characteristic of Salado Creek. However, the mottled light filtering through the trees in combination with the quality of light created by the partly cloudy sky seemed to heighten my awareness of the complexity of all the interactions occurring within this dynamic riparian environment.
