The past week and a half I have focused on the chronicle of the San Antonio River. Today's set of images is a small excerpt from the chronicle of the Salado watershed.

Butterflies Along the San Antonio River Channel

All the flowers now blooming along the banks of the San Antonio River have attracted a proportional number of butterflies of a variety of species. This is only a few:




















These photos were taken on my walk a week ago on Wednesday, April 11 and yesterday on Wednesday, April 18.

The butterflies above in the order of appearance:
1 - 3        Checkered White (Pontia protodice)
4 - 5        Orange Sulphur (Colias eurytheme)
6 - 9        Checkered White (Pontia protodice)
10 - 11    Mexican Fritillary (Euptoieata hegesia)
12 - 14    White Checkered-Skipper (Pyrgus albescens)
15 - 19    Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta)
