With the summer solstice fast approaching, there is still a trove of spring photographs I have yet to publish. This set of butterfly photos was taken on my walk in Pearsall Park on Wednesday, May 2. The spring wildflowers were in full bloom attracting countless butterflies. I could easily have spent an entire day photographing nothing but butterflies:
With the onset of summer, the spring wildflowers are well past their peak. Butterflies still flutter around the natural areas, but there aren't as many now as there were a month ago. They are spending far more time fluttering than perching. And that makes them much more difficult to photograph.

A Bluebird's Kind of Day

Crescent Bend Nature Park
Today's photos:
In Bexar County, Winter went out with a vengeance Monday night and Spring entered with a torrent early Tuesday morning. As so often happens this time of year, the torrent was followed by a bright, clear, cool, windy day today. A curious bluebird looked down from its perch in the shade in a tree.
