The Black-backed Lesser Goldfinch
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I never know quite what to expect when I head out on a walk. I try not to have any particular expectations so I will be open to whatever happens to appear along a trail. This past Wednesday when I was returning to the Tobin Trailhead, a male black-backed lesser goldfinch made an appearance and remained perched in the same place long enough for me to get a series of photos:
