Beyond Seeing
"Once you really commence to see things, then you really commence to feel things."  -  Edward Steichen

The American White Water-lily, also known as the Fragrant White Water-lily, (Nymphaea odarata Ait.) has a wide distribution throughout most of North America. The ones pictured here are growing in the San Antonio River in Brackenridge Park.

While the flowers are obviously predominant in the photos, look closely. There is more to be seen than the flowers alone. The flowers do not (and cannot) exist independent of all that surrounds them.

These photos were taken on my walk in Brackenridge Park on Monday, October 8.
